Why do I need travel Insurance for my Holiday?
If you've heard the saying 'if you can't afford insurance, you can't afford to travel, 'you'll probably agree that insurance IS important and you shouldn't leave home without it. Many travellers, especially those on a tight budget, believe that holiday insurance is a luxury, not a necessity, and hope to save money by not taking out a travel policy. However the reality is, should something happen your insurance will be worth its premium many times over.
Medical and Emergency Assistance
As this is the most important aspect of cover your policy should have, make sure it's included, even if you are purchasing a very basic policy. Cover providing you with 24 hour around the clock assistance is also advised, as many of the countries you will be travelling to will be in a different time zone to New Zealand making phone contact difficult if you happen to get sick or injured in the middle of the night.
