Skiers should ensure they buy
backpacker travel insurance as a priority when planning their trip to the ski-slope.
The Ski Club of Great Britain conducted a new poll through skiclub.co.uk which found that nearly 35 per cent of skiers surveyed admitted to having either minimum travel insurance or, even worse, none at all. The Ski Club of Great Britain has urged skiers to make sure they are covered for accidents, as medical bills can run up to many thousands of pounds.
Alyn Morgan, information manager at the Ski Club of Great Britain, said: "The key is to read the small print and make sure your policy covers you for all the activities you will be taking part in."
Most snow sports are very physical activities and so travellers need to make sure their
worldwide travel insurance covers them for specific types.
Uninsured skiers involved in an accident could find themselves paying hefty fees, with figures of £30,000 not uncommon for broken bones sustained in the United States.
