Backpackers looking to experience Advent in Austria should buy
online travel insurance before heading out.
Acording to hostelbookers.com, the Kitzbuhel festival Advent in the Mountains runs throughout December until Christmas Eve and is a major pull for backpackers with
gap year travel insurance and a range of other visitors. The Kitzbuhel town centre hosts a Christmas market every day of the festival between 2pm and 8pm local time, while a nativity scene built of ice is one of the festival's highlights.
Guided tours through the Austrian town kicked off the festivities last week and the normal Christmas traditions of carol-singing by candlelight and seasonal storytelling will dominate the festival through to Christmas Eve.
Ski huts are the most popular form of budget accommodation favoured by backpackers who visit the town in search of a cheap yet cosy retreat from the cold winter temperatures, although
one way travel insurance should be considered by anyone planning an overseas trip.
