Backpacker travel insurance holders prepare to party

Darling Harbour's 21st birthday bash next week could be set to attract a host of gap year travel insurance holders in Sydney.

The free celebrations take place on May 3rd and will include food, fireworks, music, dance and a string of other entertainment events.

Backpackers can enjoy a strong multi-cultural vibe, kicking off with a carnival in Tumbalong Park from 11:00 local time.

The event's website says: "Celebrate! brings together the best from Sydney's Indigenous, Malaysian, Polish, Spanish, Japanese, Brazilian, Indian, Lebanese, West African, Korean, Brazilian, Thai, Japanese, Indian, Chinese, Greek and Indonesian communities in one unforgettable festival."

Fireworks at Cockle Bay complete the day's entertainment in what is expected to be a typically jaw-dropping display of Sydney pyrotechnics.

Other events that may interest people visiting the city with online travel insurance include Sydney Fashion Week, which began on Monday and runs until May 1st at various locations around Circular Quay.
