Australia-bound
gap year travel insurance customers may be interested to hear that an Adelaide zoo is hoping to build a new eco-tourism resort.
Monarto Zoo is currently seeking investors to fund the wildlife project, which it hopes will resemble African game reserves.
Commenting on the plans, the zoo's chief executive Chris West said: "This presents a huge and exciting opportunity to do something totally new and authentic.
"It will combine eco-tourism and have a direct conservation benefit by featuring African animals in a natural setting and providing space and resources to help save native Australian species from extinction."
The zoo recently bought 500 hectares of land so it could offer four-wheel drive tours around the largest reserve outside Africa.
