According to holiday firm Expedia.co.uk, the region is currently offering great value packages for those hoping for some winter sun.
Jonathan Cudworth, the website's director of product management, said: "There are currently some fantastic deals available on flight and accommodation packages.
"Countries such as Thailand and Vietnam offer beautiful beaches for Brits to top up their tans, as well as cultural hotspots and exotic cuisine."
Recent research from the Post Office revealed that Thailand, at just one third of Australia's cost of living, is the cheapest long-haul destination.
While longer flights generally cost more, holidaymakers could save money overall by travelling outside the eurozone, noted Mr Cudworth.
He added: "Searches to Egypt, Turkey and Dubai have all increased over the past few months, and will continue to do so into early next year."
