Backpackers planning on applying for a pay-phone survey job in Queenstown, New Zealand, could buy
worldwide travel insurance.
Scene.co.nz reports that Kelly Services, a recruitment agency in Christchurch on the South Island, is looking for someone to quiz customers outside two heavily-used payphones in Queenstown.
The person who gets the job will be paid $16 (£6.21) an hour to stand next to the payphone booths for three days between June 2nd and 4th and ask a series of questions to whoever uses the phones during that time.
Anna McHugh, a consultant with Kelly Services, told the website: "Customers will be asked questions like whether they have a home or mobile phone, what they would do if the payphone was out of order and also if they have any suggestions to improve the existing service."
The data collected will be used for a national survey and the job itself could suit backpackers with
cheap travel insurance looking for a few days' work to fund the next leg of their trip.
Queenstown is popular for a range of activities, including bungee jumping and white-water rafting.
