Vaughan Rowsell, from the New Zealand town of Kerikeri has chosen to cycle across the country to raise money for the Association for Spinal Concerns, a trust he chose in honour of his mum, who has coped with a spinal injury for nearly 50 years.
On the way, Mr Rowsell has been recording his adventures by using every piece of digital hardware he can lay his hands on, ranging from blogging through to video uploads to YouTube.
The traveller said: "I'm a self-confessed workaholic and this cycle trip has dragged me away from my desk and helped me see there are so many other rewarding things that you can do in life."
People planning to explore New Zealand on the back of a bike always have the option of buying
