The Lonely Planet guidebook series could prove ideal for backpackers taking out
cheap travel insurance.
Examiner.com reports that while some travellers may turn their noses up at being told where to go and what to see, Lonely Planet books are "ruthlessly researched" and are written in "an engaging, informative way".
According to the website: "Their pages are peppered with information an average travel guide might leave out, including metric conversions, necessary vaccinations, time zones, country codes, tourist seasons and a daily budget."
It concludes: "Do yourself a favour and buy a Lonely Planet for your next vacation. It's worth it."
Travellers looking for one-way travel insurance could benefit from the series, which covers hundreds of destinations and is authored by over 300 seasoned jetsetters.
According to its website, Lonely Planet was established in 1972 by Maureen and Tony Wheeler when the couple penned their first title, Across Asia on the Cheap.
