Good deals can be found for European ski breaks

A new report published this week has highlighted the best value for money destinations for the 2008/09 ski season.

Although high fuel costs and the weakening of the pound against the euro are thought to be threatening the influx of holidaymakers to European slopes, Crystal Ski's annual industry report has revealed that good deals are still available.

Resorts such as Formigal in Spain, Ischgl in Austria, Levi in Finland and Davos and Klosters in Switzerland have all been hailed as popular choices this year by the report.

The company's managing director Mathew Prior has also claimed that skiers working on a tight budget will be flocking to Austria in particular, as "it is offering good quality accommodation at good prices".

The report also revealed that resorts in Italy and Andorra look set to suffer as a result of poor snow conditions, with the latter now building luxury accommodation to replace its traditionally affordable places to stay.

Crystal Ski also claim that there was a three per cent increase in the number of ski holiday bookings during the 2007/08 season.ADNFCR-1708-ID-18693412-ADNFCR
