A leading travel writer has hailed the region of Krabi in Thailand for its "stunning natural beauty".
The area has proved to be a hit in recent times with backpackers and gappers who are travelling around the country and holidaymakers looking to take a luxury break.
Now Andy Burrows has explained that Krabi boasts a range of natural attractions which would appeal to all ages and interests, not least to those interested in scuba diving.
He said: "Scuba diving and snorkelling is a must while you're staying in Krabi.
"All of the Andaman Islands sport wonderful coral reefs and the clear water makes for fantastic snorkelling or diving."
The region boasts impressive beaches and limestone cliffs, which are ideal for climbing fanatics, but should only be take on by those with the requisite travel insurance cover.
In addition, it also plays host to a vast array of geology and plant life, some of which can be enjoyed at the Than Bok Khornaie National Park, according to Mr Burrows.
Other recommended attractions include the Shell Fossil Cemetery, which contains a slab of rock dating back 35 million years.
