Adapted from CS Lewis' famous children's books, filming has already begun on the third in the series of films - The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawntreader.
The latest film will see the Pevensie children along with their cousin Eustace Scrubb travel through a painting and on to a Narnian ship headed for the edges of the world.
Production will take place in Queensland, Australia and the film is slated for release in December 2010.
Meanwhile, building work continues on The Hobbit's film set in New Zealand.
Following the release of photographs posted on the fan-site Onering.net, the country's tourism board confirmed that the Lord of the Rings set was to be rebuilt for the new film.
Hobbit holes and hedgerows are already said to be visible on the Buckland Road location.
