The global release of Baz Luhrmann's epic new movie 'Australia' will prompt even more people to take out travel insurance and head Down Under, it is believed.
Citing the massive surge in visitor numbers seen by New Zealand in the wake of the release of the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy which was filmed at a number of sites over the two islands Australian tourism chiefs have revealed that they expect their industry to see a three per cent growth over the next 12 months.
In particular, given that the romance follows a cattle drive across the country's stunning yet barren interior, it is expected that travellers will increasingly look to book
online travel insurance that will cover them for the risks associated with going 'Walkabout' in the Outback.
This interest is likely to be further boosted by recent comments from US TV star Oprah Winfrey.
The talk show host told an estimated six million Americans that "Australia is going to make you jump on a plane and go Down Under", comments which have been widely welcomed by tourism bosses across the country.
