Worldwide travel insurance customers looking for a slap-up meal may wish to head to New York or Melbourne.
This is because the two cities featured in a Lonely Planet study to find the top culinary destinations in the world.
The travel firm asked its global community of authors the question "What is your favourite city to gorge yourself with food?"
New York finished in joint first place, with it being noted for its diverse culinary offerings.
Lonely Planet stated that people visiting New York can find everything from "cheap street food to pricey fine dining".
Meanwhile, Melbourne took joint third spot in the list, with the firm behind the research urging
worldwide travel insurance customers to "trust the insiders" when it comes to hints and tips on the best places to eat.
Last week, thetravelmagazine.net claimed that New York is set to be a popular destination for Britons over the festive holiday period.
