Last year saw the UK's Ben Southall win a global contest for a six month contract to be caretaker of Hamilton Island; a job which involved sailing, conservation and writing a blog about his experiences.
Anna Bligh, Queensland's premier, said one lucky winner will have the opportunity to invite three friends along for a stay on the region's Whitsunday Islands.
"Six months just isn't enough time to sample everything so we're looking for some mates who can share in the experience with Ben," she added.
According to Tourism Queensland, the previous campaign has been a great success, with 127,000 visitors logging on to Mr Southall's blog.
Earlier this year saw the blog attract criticism from web users for having too few posts and containing too much promotional content.
