People who may have taken out
worldwide travel insurance are being given the chance to travel around Australia in style.
Travellers Auto Barn, two-time winner and current holder of the Golden Backpacks Best National Transport Company, has announced a new competition that could see one lucky winner driving off with one of the organisation's vehicles.
The company has teamed up with two of the country's top backpacker venues to stage the competition, which will allow the winner six weeks in one of the company's Get Away Cars.
The winner will travel along the east coast from Sydney to Cairns or vice versa and a new winner will be picked every six weeks, giving them the opportunity to backpack in luxury.
Peter Burke, managing director of Travellers Auto Barn, said: "This is a fantastic experience for any backpacker - to travel along the east coast in the classic Australian station wagon, for free! What a way to travel."
Tom Griffiths, founder of Gapyear.com, recently suggested that Australia is one of the best places for people who may have obtained
backpacker travel insurance to spend their year out.
Writing in the Guardian, he explained the country offers a wide range of options, with something for everyone.
