Worldwide travel insurance fans with a fascination for the ancient world may be excited to hear reports of plans for a new dino experience in Oz.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Queensland is set to be transformed into Australia's very own Jurassic Park with museums and a Dinosaur Tourist Trail.
The newspaper describes the state as a "mecca" for fossils, with a number of major discoveries of new species made within the last decade.
To make the finds accessible to the public, a Paleo Tourism Trail is being developed, linking excavation sites and museums at Lightning Ridge, Eromanga, Winton, Hughenden and Richmond.
Tourism website Queensland Holidays says Lark Quarry Dinosaur Trackways - found along the trail - inspired the dinosaur stampede in Stephen Spielberg's movie Jurassic Park.
Visitors will be invited to see digs in action, help to preserve fossils and view replicas of Aussie dinosaurs.
Queensland Museum paleontologist Scott Hocknull described the findings as a "revolution" in the country's natural history.
"Children no longer need to learn about North American dinosaurs to fuel their appetite for the beasts," he told the Herald.
