Wednesday (September 23rd) saw residents of the city wake to a red sky after strong winds carried thousands of tonnes of dust across the Harbour City, the Hunter Valley, Wollongong and the state's western regions.
International flights have been suspended and ferries cancelled, while those with asthma or other breathing problems have been warned to stay indoors.
Motorists are also asked to take special care due to the low visibility.
Sydney locals have been told to expect further disruption due to the possibility of more storms over the city tomorrow (September 26th).
Barry Hanstrum from the Bureau of Meteorology told news network ABC it is too early to predict exactly which areas will be affected, but said it will not be as windy or as dusty as Wednesday.
"Wednesday morning's dust storm was an extraordinary event," he added.
