Ben Southall is likely to be searching
online travel insurance policies having been named the new caretaker of an island in the Great Barrier Reef.
The 34-year-old beat off some serious competition from 35,000 applicants to land the dream position, which will see him spend six months on Hamilton Island.
Receiving an enviable £70,000 for the job, Mr Southall's duties will include writing a weekly blog and compiling video and photo diaries to promote the island worldwide.
In between those tasks, the Hampshire local can enjoy a three-bedroom villa, private plunge pool, endless ocean views and a golf buggy to go exploring.
Speaking to the Times, Mr Southall said: "I stayed in a tent on top of my Landrover while I travelled through Africa last year, so this is going to be a very welcome difference."
