'Roos on the road are responsible for around 23 accidents a day in New South Wales, says NRMA Insurance.
Robert McDonald, the insurance firm's head of research, said the creatures "are often looking for food at sunrise and sunset and it's during this time that an increased number of collisions occur".
If drivers see a kangaroo they should try and brake rather than swerve, which could block an oncoming car, suggested Mr McDonald.
"If you hit the animal and safety permits, the driver should also try to help it and move it to the side of the road to prevent further crashes," he added.
Earlier this month saw more kangaroo chaos in a less likely location.
Will the kangaroo escaped from his home in a sanctuary in southern France and was spotting bounding around the countryside for ten days before being cornered by wildlife experts.
