Tourism Australia has teamed up with Emirates airline's UK arm in a new campaign, which aims to lure British travellers downunder with the promise of easy flight connections through Dubai.
The Come Walkabout with Emirates adverts offer a platform for the new Visit Australia Pass, where travellers from six UK airports can reach their Aussie destination after a stop at the airline's home hub in Dubai.
The pass offers connections to 22 destinations popular with backpackers, including the Gold Coast, Byron Bay and Hamilton Islands, as well as all major cities.
Rodney Harrex, Tourism Australia general manager for UK and Europe, said: "Following the success of the last cooperative campaign, we're working with Emirates again to promote Australia's tourism credentials and to make the destination accessible to holidaymakers by raising consumer awareness of the airlines regional departure points."
In light of the current economic climate, it is "critical" Australia continues to keep a high profile in the travel market, he added.
