Oz-bound backpacker insurance customers could pay a visit to the Central Coast's Reptile Park, which today celebrates its 60th anniversary.
Launching the revelry, Jodi McKay, minister for tourism, said the park has a distinguished history and plays a vital role in the region's leisure industry.
"The Reptile Park has twice been named the Best Regional Attraction in Australia and was the NSW winner of the Decade for Best Regional Attraction between 1989 and 1998," she added.
In 2000 the park was devastated by fire, which destroyed its main building and wiped out the country's largest collection of reptiles, spiders and amphibians.
According to Ms McKay, the park's staff and supporters rallied round and it was re-opened just two months later.
Celebrating 60 years in operation, the attraction will host six months worth of special events, including daily wildlife shows and historical anecdotes.
