Backpackers are pitching tents outside branches of STA travel across the UK in the hope of securing the bargain-flights.
The tickets, available to those aged 18 to 30 in possession of a working holiday visa, will go on sale at 8:00 BST this Wednesday.
One of the campers, Michelle Greaves, told the Yorkshire Evening Post that she had booked the time off work for the "once-in-a-lifetime deal."
Meanwhile in the capital, the London Paper reports that keen travellers arrived as early as Sunday to get in line.
Ashleigh McPherson told the paper: "We've hardly had any sleep - there's been sirens going on all night and it has been raining a lot."
The ten-pound tickets are to be released in celebration of STA Travel's 30th birthday.
A spokesperson for the travel company said that the recession offers an ideal chance for young backpackers to take a year out.
