Virgin Blue Airlines has launched a new scheme to help backpackers maximise their travelling in Australia and New Zealand.
Travellers purchasing an 'Airpass' will have the privilege of unlimited access to a number of routes in and between the two countries.
The pass, which can be bought independently or as part of any international ticket to either country, will be valid for trips boasting fixed-rate fees all year round.
Stefan Pichler, chief commercial officer of Vigin Blue Airlines, said: "Airpass holders can fly on their choice of 53 routes across Australia and New Zealand, allowing travellers to explore capital cities, regional towns and tourism centres across our Australasian network."
In addition, the pass will be valid for 12 months for any travellers on Australian or New Zealand visas, and there will be no charges for any amendments to flights.
Despite recent reports claiming that Australia is experiencing a lull in the number of holidaymakers arriving on its shores, the Sydney Morning Herald claims that Britons are now making the long journey more than ever.
