A range of different items are commonly left on the Eurostar service between London and Paris or Brussels, a spokesperson for the company has said.
Head of press at Eurostar Lesley Retallack said that all kinds of things are left on the train service.
"People have forgotten their cheeses, their bread, underwear, coats," the press manager confirmed, adding that high-value items are also often forgotten, although such goods tend to be recovered by their owners.
Wherever individuals are travelling there is a risk that items can get left behind and in such circumstances,
worldwide travel insurance may come in handy.
Both national and international travel can result in items getting lost, so no matter what kind of trip is to be undertaken, travellers should be aware of the potential dangers.
And it is not just trains where people leave their belongings behind. A spokesperson for the UK's National Express coach service noted that it is common to leave suitcases behind, but that other items, such as false teeth and a tin leg, have also been lost.
