Worldwide insurance customers may be relieved to hear that a missing backpacker in Australia has been found safe and well.
New South Wales police confirmed previously that a 29-year-old Italian traveller went missing after a swim in the waters off Bondi Beach last night (November 22nd).
Authorities launched a full-scale search after the group that the man was with reported that he had not returned after entering the water at around 21:00 local time.
Investigators discovered the Italian after travelling to his accommodation in Bondi to find his identification.
As they arrived, the man was seen sat outside the property, safe and well, leading to the search to be called off.
Worldwide insurance customers concerned about incidents such as this during their backpacking breaks may want to consult the World First Gap Year Survival Guide.
The document reveals that around 49 per cent of travellers departing on such trips each year leave without the correct travel cover.
