People with one-way travel insurance planning a trip to Australia might soon have the chance to stay in an old converted hospital building in New South Wales (NSW).
The Daily Advertiser reports that the Junee Hospital in Junee, NSW, closed in July last year after a new facility opened in the town nearby and the site offers five separate buildings spread across 2,570 sq metres.
Several potential buyers have already expressed an interest in the 80-year-old structure and one possibility is that it could be converted into low-cost backpacker accommodation.
Paul Irvine, director of the Professionals Real Estate, said: "There are possibilities for a bed and breakfast to be put out there ... it would offer excellent accommodation for backpackers or even short-term accommodation with the jail out there."
