Britons behaving better on trips outside Europe have the option of buying
backpacker travel insurance before they leave home.
Online travel company Expedia reports that British travellers tend to behave better when they're outside Europe as they've paid more for a long-haul journey and they want to make sure they don't ruin their trip.
Britons tend to have a better reputation among cultures beyond Europe as they often take more time behaving themselves and exploring local culture.
Jonathan Cudworth, head of product marketing at Expedia.co.uk, said: "While in the past we may have been guilty of being loud and unruly when in Europe - taking a short inexpensive break to get away from the daily grind and let our hair down - this behaviour is slowly changing."
He added that more Britons are taking trips to less familiar places and they want to know more about the places they're visiting.
Backpackers can always buy one-way travel insurance in preparation for their trip.
Britons are considered among the most polite tourists in the world, according to research from Expedia.
