Avid sports fans and
worldwide travel insurance customers alike will flock to Brazil when it hosts the Olympic Games, says a travel operator.
According to Journey Latin America, Brazilian tourism will be boosted by the country's Olympic bid success.
Rio beat off competition from Madrid, Chicago and Tokyo, winning the opportunity to host the 2016 Games.
Commenting on the news, Laura Rendell-Dunn, spokesperson for the firm, said: "It is great for tourism as anyone visiting the Games will like to spend the rest of their time in Brazil and visit the beautiful beaches, waterfalls and jungles it has to offer."
She added that those visiting from Europe will want an extended stay in the country as their journey would have been so long.
"To go that distance and the airfares are quite costly, most people would want to make the most out of their stay there and may bolt on another week to visit some of Brazil's gems," added Ms Rendell-Dunn.
