Backpackers looking to save money by pursuing an all-inclusive trip have the option of first buying
cheap travel insurance.
All-inclusive trips offer one of the best ways for people to go overseas, especially if money is particularly tight, according to travel agency Thomas Cook.
Expenses such as meals and activities are often included in the initial price, meaning additional costs are less likely to be accumulated when backpackers reach their destination.
A spokesperson for Thomas Cook UK and Ireland said: "The important thing is to research where you want to go and our agents will be able to help you find out how much it will cost on a daily basis once you're there."
The spokesperson added that costs could also be cut be reducing the number of days spent overseas, if only by a couple of nights.
All backpackers have the option of buying
online travel insurance before they leave home.
Travellers can buy a three-course meal in Spain for an average price of less than £12, according to Thomas Cook's Holiday Cost of Living survey.
