Foodie holidaymakers, who could buy
online travel insurance, would find plenty to whet their appetite in Japan, says a travel expert.
According to Food and Travel magazine Japan has something to offer gourmets on every budget.
Charlotte Swift, the publication's editor, said: "Japan has already become a mecca for gastronomes across the world and with a wide variety of eating experiences on offer, ranging from Michelin-starred restaurants to frantic street stalls, it is little wonder."
Fine dining guide Michelin recently published a book about restaurants in the country's Osaka and Kyoto regions.
Seven restaurants included in the guide were awarded the much coveted Michelin three stars.
Ms Swift added: "The country has an awe-inspiring variety of nature and rich and colourful culture, making it a fascinating destination for all sorts of visitors."
She recommended a visit to Tokyo's Tukiji fish market, the largest of its kind in the world.
