The New Zealand town of Raglan, renowned throughout the world as a top surfing spot, has been added to several tours run by Kiwi Experience.
The operator, which specialises in tours for backpackers and other budget travellers, will start to visit the town in the coming weeks as the New Zealand summer begins to kick in. Raglan has built up a reputation in recent years as one of the top surf locations in the world and plays host to a number of competitions. Backpackers can catch a lesson before honing their new skills on nearby beaches.
Brendon Pope, general manager of Kiwi Experience, told scoop.co.nz: "We are very pleased to offer passengers the chance to encounter one of our most spectacular beaches by putting Raglan on the Kiwi Experience map."
In addition to its surfing opportunities, Raglan offers a host of other activities for thrill-seeking travellers, including skydiving, blow-carting and kite-surfing, all of which suggest that the town is seeking to divert attention from Queenstown, New Zealand's adventure capital.
