People planning a budget visit to Russia could benefit from
worldwide travel insurance in the wake of a hostel fire in the south of the country.
The fire tore through the wooden hostel in the south of the country over the weekend and is thought to have killed at least 15 people while an additional seven have been hospitalised.
Reports have suggested that the hostel had in fact been closed but that around 80 squatters had moved into the premises and attempted to rewire the electrical systems in the building which could have led to the fire.
Tourists should check, however, that the hostel they have chosen is run by a professional company or organisation.
Cheap travel insurance is always an option.
Hostels are frequently chosen by budget travellers and backpackers as a good way to save money and meet people of a similar mindset as they are often communal in nature.
