Backpackers looking to get a Choppa campervan for a trip round Australia in the coming weeks and months could get
worldwide travel insurance.
Australia.to reports that Jucy Rentals in Australia is launching 80 four-person sleeper Choppa campervans as part of an investment of nearly $8 million (£3.9 million) in the Australian vehicle rental market.
The Choppas will form part of an additional 100 vehicles that will mean the company will be offering 300 vehicles to families and backpacker groups.
Tim Alpe, chief executive officer of Jucy Rentals, told the website: "In order to continue positive growth in 2009-10, we understand that we need to keep working harder and invest in our staff, marketing and the development of Jucy's fleet to ensure that when the times do pick up we will be there for our customers."
He added that the Choppa offers a range of features requested by the public, including a double cooker and a safe.
Backpackers not keen on sleeping in a campervan can stay cheaply in a wide range of hostels with like-minded people, many of whom may have bought
online travel insurance.
