Backpackers with
worldwide travel insurance should look into the various flights that are available because the industry is becoming increasingly competitive, it has been reported.
According to Travel Counsellors, the global air travel market is currently so filled with different airlines jostling for position that it is easier than ever to find a cheap deal when heading off for a short or long break.
Darren McCormick, head of aviation at Travel Counsellors, said: "Various airlines have reduced the number of flights in what, at present, are flooded markets."
He explained that this has resulted in an array of flights for people to choose from and the competition between the different carriers has helped keep air fares low even during the recession.
Mr McCormick added that airlines are reducing flights on routes where they have more than one flight a day, such as from London Heathrow to New York or Hong Kong.
Nonetheless, bargains can still be found and for people with
one way travel insurance these deals can prove useful.
Earlier this month, Civil Aviation Authority airport statistics revealed the first fall in passenger numbers for 17 years.
