Travel site eTurboNews.com reports that latest statistics reveal an eight per cent increase in visitors to the islands.
Michael Tokuru, the Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau's general manager, said arrivals for the first six months of this year saw a further jump of almost one-quarter.
"In spite of the current global economic downturn affecting both the global and regional tourism, the growth in visitors' arrivals to Solomon Islands as shown in the second quarter and the first six months of 2009 is welcoming," Mr Tokuru told the news site.
The bureau's website offers a list of must-do activities for visitors.
Wildlife lovers can try watching endangered turtles on Tetepare Island or dolphin-spotting in Savo.
Those interested in the islands' history as a British protectorate can visit historical sites from World War Two including wreckages from battle-sites.
