People taking advantage of cheap rail offers in Europe could find
gap year travel insurance handy for their trip.
PRNewswire reports that free travel days are available between up to five bordering European countries, as a result of a promotion organised by the Eurail Group and the International Student Identity Card Association.
Under the terms of the offer, people buying an eight-day Eurail Select Pass Youth for second-class will get an additional two days of free rail travel and the offer runs through to the end of July this year.
Ana Dias e Seixas, marketing director for Eurail Group, told the website: "We aim to raise the bar, reinforcing the global reach of the Eurail Pass offer to the youth and student market. We are looking forward to welcoming more travellers from all over the world."
The offer has launched partly to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Eurail pass and could prove popular among backpackers with
online travel insurance.
In related news, the Croatian Times reports that overnight rail trips taken between Zagreb and Split could give backpackers access to cheaper car travel in the region.
