Backpackers planning to visit the Adventure Travel & Backpackers Expo in Melbourne, Australia, could first buy

Etravelblackboard.com reports that expo organisers are confident the Melbourne event at the Royal Exhibition Building on February 21st and 22nd will be a big success after a surge in visitor numbers at the November event in Sydney.
The number of companies scheduled to exhibit in Melbourne has not changed much since last year, perhaps showing the resilience of the budget travel industry.
Andrew Paltridge, director of the expo, told the website: "Forward stand sales for the 2009/10 expo series are tracking at identical levels to the past several years, which looks good for our sector of the industry."
He added that some companies had even booked for next year's event, such was their apparent trust that demand would remain consistent.

According to the expo's website, the event provides the opportunity to seek travel advice from over 150 different companies.
