Christmas is a "magical time" for
worldwide travel insurance customers to visit New York.
Anna Catchpole, public relations manager for NYV & Company, said that there is a fantastic atmosphere in the city around the festive period.
She commented: "Christmas is a magical time to visit New York City. You can't beat the atmosphere, the lights and the window displays so it is always a popular time for Brits to visit.
"This year we are expecting just as many Brits as ever before to come to New York for Christmas shopping."
Ms Catchpole also said that now is a great time for people to visit the city, as hotel prices are falling.
According to recent figures from the US Department of Commerce, visitors to the country from Europeans are expected to drop by three per cent in 2009.
However, very slow growth is predicted for next year, with slow growth forecast for the following three years.
