Backpackers planning a top hostel visit could buy cheap travel insurance

Backpackers with online travel insurance who are visiting Europe are among those who can now benefit from a list of its top ten hostels.

Voted for by STA Travel customers, the list reflects a diverse range of destinations across the continent, some of which offer swimming pools, flat screen TVs, internet and free meals.

Ranking first is the Absolute Paris Hotel and Hostel, located in the popular quarter Metro Republique, which boasts 95 beds and a view of the St Martin canal.

Second place goes to the Generator Hostel in London, which could entice backpackers with gap year travel insurance looking for a free breakfast, bed sheets and local tours.

STA Travel reports that the third favourite hostel of its jetsetting customers is the Caulaincourt Square Hostel in Paris, popular due to its position in the artistic region of Monmartre, home of the world-famous Sacre Coeur Basilica.

Hostels are increasingly offering a real alternative to more luxurious hotels as they respond to the demands of so-called 'flashpackers' who have more money to spend.
