Backpackers planning a trip to a popular new hostel in Yamba, Australia, could buy
online travel insurance before they head off.
The new hostel in Yamba in the Australian state of New South Wales has prompted a surge of interest in the town to the point where the Daily Examiner reports that bus company Greyhound Australia has agreed to set up a new service.
Greyhound is to begin a three-month trial service, providing buses to Yamba from both Sydney and Brisbane, while Yamba residents will be able to use it to get to a selection of local towns as well.
Ian Barnes, a Yamba resident who works as a driver for Greyhound, told the paper: "Many didn't give us a chance but Greyhound is always looking at new initiatives to promote travel on their coaches."
A daily service from Brisbane will take around seven hours to reach Yamba, and will then leave for an overnight trip to Sydney. The service from Sydney will leave at 22:00 local time each night.
Overnight bus trips are a cost-effective option for backpackers as they offer a chance to sleep while travelling on a budget between destinations.
Visitors to Australia could buy one-way travel insurance.
