A new hostel to be opened by the Youth Hostel Association (YHA) in Melbourne, Australia, in a few weeks could attract visitors with
backpacker travel insurance.
According to etravelblackboard.com, the five-storey, Edwardian-era Melbourne Central YHA is in the business district of the city and overlooks the Yarra River.
The building has undergone a three-year renovation programme and will offer over 200 beds, including some in private rooms with balconies or with rooftop terraces.
In addition, the hostel offers the Bertha Bar on the ground floor, which will cater for backpackers and businesspeople alike.
Melbourne Central YHA has been designed as an energy-efficient building by utilising measures such as energy-saving light bulbs, insulation and modern water systems. The green features could appeal to more visitors, all of whom have the option of buying
worldwide travel insurance.
When the hostel opens in April it will add to the existing YHA hostel network that includes more than 120 different sites in Australia alone.
Backpackers often choose to stay in hostels as they offer cheap accommodation and the opportunity to meet like-minded travellers.
