A newly-wed couple with
worldwide travel insurance may have had to put their Mexico honeymoon on hold due to the outbreak of swine flu, according to a report.
Norwich Evening News 24 reports that John and Laura Broadbent are due to fly out to the Riviera Maya resort on June 8th, but flight cancellations imposed by Thomson could potentially extend past that date.
The couple have always dreamed of a holiday in the Caribbean but have chosen a back-up in the Dominican Republic if Mexico doesn't work out.
Mrs Broadbent said: "We haven't booked anything with the hotel in the Dominican Republic, so we don't even know if they will have space there. We have been told that travel insurance would cover us for swine flu, though."
With the situation apparently improving in Mexico, the couple are hopeful that their flight will be available on their set date.
Cheap travel insurance is always an option when travelling overseas.
Life in Mexico City has begun to return to normal, with children returning to school after several days off.
