An expert has said that people are looking to go to more exotic locations on their stag and hen nights.
The Halifax reported in 2007 that 26 per cent of men had been on a single sex holiday in the previous year and 19 per cent of women. Roughly a quarter of these were stag and hen nights.
Ben Rodger, marketing manager of releasetravel.co.uk, which organises "unforgettable" stag and hen trips, named gambling world capital Las Vegas as still being one of the favoured locations for stag parties.
Perhaps Sex and the City has led to New York having an enduring popularity for British hens.
Mr Rodger said: "More people are looking to travel to more unique 'memorable' locations.
"It makes perfect sense when you think that a group of friends may have already been on four or five stag or hen weekends."
The expert believes that escaping financial worries is giving more Brits good cause to go further afield.
All the more reason to get
cheap travel insurance as a 2004 Morgan Stanley survey estimated that the average stag or hen weekend costs £365.
