Female backpackers planning to take advantage of the sun while overseas and sunbathe topless have the option of buying
online travel insurance.
The Northern Territory News reports that British backpackers are among those sunbathing topless in the Australian city of Darwin near the site where the Waterfront project is being developed.
Builders on the project are reportedly being distracted by the sight of many British and European girls lounging nearby wearing very little, while local police are keeping an eye on activities in a nearby pool.
Penelope Smith, a 19-year-old British backpacker from Bath, told the paper: "When they (the builders) have a cigarette break, they all stand around and watch. It is probably the perfect job and perfect place for it. My friends say it is a compliment, but I am not the type to play it up."
The Darwin Waterfront Corporation has said that female topless sunbathing is not allowed near the site.
In other news, research from TripAdvisor has revealed that Britons generally spend more time drinking and sunbathing on holiday than they do exploring local culture.
