Cheap travel insurance is advised for people planning to use a website to seek work in New Zealand.
According to the New Zealand Herald, a website run from New Zealand is helping connect seasonal and temporary workers with local employers in the country. Eduardo Perez came to New Zealand from Ecuador seven years ago in pursuit of a career in IT but ended up setting up his own fruit-picking business. He then set up a website, pickapicker.co.nz, which helps link up travellers and backpackers looking for temporary work, with local employers.
Mr Perez told the paper: "I wanted to develop something that would benefit both the local Hawkes Bay community and the backpackers."
The website has helped 3,000 people find temporary work and currently has more than 20 local businesses registered.
Temporary work is very popular among backpackers with
online travel insurance who are looking to earn the money to pay for the next leg of their adventures.
