Britons planning to travel to far-flung destinations during the recession could benefit from
online travel insurance.
Destinations: The Holiday & Travel Show, held recently at the NEC, was told by the Association of British Travel Agents (Abta) that more Britons are making the decision to undertake long-haul trips to places like South Africa and Thailand.
Steve Barnes, corporate marketing manager at Abta, said that many Britons are exhibiting a willingness for adventure when they book their journey.
Mr Barnes told the show: "People are definitely getting more adventurous, yes. We're noticing that in the companies that are joining Abta as well; they are off the beaten track and offer different types of holidays."
He added that as many Britons have already seen much of Europe, people are also setting their sights on places like the Galapagos Islands, Bhutan and Ecuador.
Cheap travel insurance is always an option in journey planning.
Abta's Holiday Value Report found that half of respondents consider a holiday to be an essential break from the concerns of economic troubles.
