Travellers should seek
backpacker travel insurance before trying new extreme sports in New Zealand.
New Zealand is famed for its extreme sports ranging from white water rafting to bungee jumping. To add to the excitement on offer across the country, a new thrill-ride is on offer from the town of Foxton in North Island. Willing adventure-seekers will be strapped to the blades of the town's windmill and spun round through a full 360 degree turn, in an idea inspired by a festival attraction in Amsterdam.
Dave Pilgrim, a volunteer manager organising the new attraction, said: "A lot of people come to New Zealand to do things like bungee jumping. It has become a thrill-adventure destination. This will provide the country with a new extreme sports attraction."
Visitors braving the new ride will be able to experience it upside down, and will have stunning views from the very top.
Travellers should ensure that their
backpacker travel insurance covers them for specific activities, especially when it comes to extreme sports in New Zealand.
