People with
backpacker travel insurance might be tempted to head to the New Zealand leg of the World Rally Championship next year.
The rally world's governing body, the FIA, has confirmed Rally New Zealand will go ahead in 2010, offering the chance for fans to see some of the world's best drivers tearing around some of the most dramatic scenery anywhere on the planet.
"We're pleased and excited to have the dates confirmed for Rally New Zealand to run on the second weekend in May next year," said Rally New Zealand chairman Chris Carr.
He explained that the new dates would be better for all concerned: "Rally New Zealand has been run in August for the past few years, with the early spring date causing some concerns for farming communities along the many spectacular rural roads that have made our event world-famous."
Backpackers with
gap year travel insurance could head to New Zealand to watch the event next year and they could be able to get there with a cheap air fare.
