Gap year travel insurance is advised for backpackers heading to award-winning hotels across New Zealand.
According to fourcorners.co.nz, Qualmark's Enviro-Gold Award logo has been given to five hotels across New Zealand in recognition of their cultural, environmental and social impacts on local communities. Three hotels scattered across Wellington and Auckland, as well as one on the west coast and one near Mount Cook in South Island, received the highest Qualmark accolade.
Geoff Penrose, chief executive of Qualmark, told visabureau.com: "Qualmark has always been the sign of quality in New Zealand tourism and I encourage tourists, both international and domestic, to look for the Qualmark Enviro logo when choosing where to stay."
New Zealand has been showered with tourism accolades in recent months, many of them recognising the country's environmental policies. The nation remains popular for backpackers and as a place of study for students from across the world.
